Switch (Chang’e): In ancient China, there was a great archer named Hou Yi. He helped the Emperor shoot down nine suns, leaving only one left in the sky. For this, the Queen of the West gave Hou Yi an elixir that would make him immortal. But his apprentice Feng Meng found out and tried to take it from Hou Yi’s wife, Chang’e, while Hou Yi was away. Chang’e was afraid Feng Meng would hurt people if he took the elixir, so in a panic, she drank it herself! Then she floated up into the sky and flew all the way to the Moon Palace. That’s the story of how Chang’e went to live on the moon.

Switch (The Jade Rabbit): A long time ago, there was a magical rabbit couple who had achieved immortality. They had four cute daughters. One day, when the rabbits heard the story of Chang’e in the Heavenly Palace, they felt bad that she was alone on the moon. So they told their daughters about Chang’e. They hoped one of the rabbits would go to the moon to live with Chang’e. The youngest daughter Little Moon Rabbit said goodbye to her family and went to the Moon Palace. There she helped Chang’e make medicine. That’s the story of the Jade Rabbit.
