Grow and Shrink Spell
“Grow and Shrink Spell” is the first toy designed by Pordi targeting self-care skills in young children. Why is a mirror considered the most important toy for nurturing self-care abilities? “Mirror neurons” are special nerve cells activated during the translation of visual information into action, playing a vital role in the primary motor cortex. These neurons fire when observing one’s own movements as well as when observing the movements of others. This explains why young children can easily imitate and learn due to the existence of “mirror neurons.” Human development from birth to socialization begins with self-concept and imitation. Children under three have egocentric thinking and a strong ability to imitate. If we want young children to start learning self-care and build good habits, we should leverage their sense of “self” and “action imitation.”
